BRIT Awards 2017
See the nominees
Following criticism in 2016, the BRITs broadened their voter base for 2017, resulting in their most diverse shortlist to date. Regardless, the biggest successes on the night were Rag'n'Bone Man and David Bowie, who won two awards each, while the show itself featured surprise collaborations from Ed Sheeran and Stormzy, and Coldplay and The Chainsmokers, plus a moving tribute to George Michael from the remaining members of Wham! See the full list of winners below.
Performers
British Album
All five of 2017’s British Album nominees were also nominated for the 2016 Mercury Prize, but it was David Bowie's final album, Blackstar, that took the most prestigious prize of the night.
British Male
Fighting off stiff competition from Kano, Craig David, Michael Kiwanuka and Mercury Prize-winner Skepta, David Bowie won a posthumous prize for Best Male.

Rag'n'Bone Man did the double, picking up both British Breakthrough and Critics' Choice, the first artist to do so in the same year.

International Female
Arguably this year’s strongest category, Beyoncé was named Best International Female, beating her sister Solange, plus Rihanna, Sia, and Christine and the Queens.

Almost two decades since their last LP, A Tribe Called Quest bagged the title of Best International Group on the strength of We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service.
