Isle of Wight Festival 2017

Festival guide

Glastonbury aside, very few UK festivals can pull together big-name line-ups as diverse as the Isle of Wight’s. This year the bill extends from Rod Stewart to Run–D.M.C., from David Guetta to George Ezra, and even features a UK festival exclusive in headliners Arcade Fire. Here’s who we’ll be watching between the 8th and the 11th June.

    Arcade Fire

Other than sharing protest song ‘I Give You Power’ to coincide with Donald Trump’s inauguration, Arcade Fire have kept a relatively low profile in 2017 so far. We now know that the Canadian collective have been busy putting the finishing touches to the as-yet untitled follow-up to Reflektor, and Isle Of Wight Festival ticket-holder will be amongst the first to hear material from it: their Saturday night headline set is a UK festival exclusive, no less.

    Run–D.M.C.

It’s Tricky’, ‘It's Like That’, ‘Peter Piper’, ‘Walk This Way’: just four good reasons to catch Run–D.M.C. live, and that’s before we even get into their status as hip hop legends. To describe the Queens outfit as trailblazers doesn’t even come close. From charting in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 and playing major arenas to receiving Grammy nominations, they were the first rap act to do it all, and without them your faves probably wouldn’t exist.

    Rag'n'Bone Man

Rory Graham had pursued musical stardom for more than half of his 32 years before he finally scored an international smash hit with 2016 single ‘Human’. Now boasting a BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and a number one debut album, the Uckfield-born blues man is fast becoming a household name. Don’t miss your chance to hear Graham’s unabashedly emotive blues-pop live: his soulful, weather-beaten vocals will give you goosebumps.
