7digital What we said: The glitchy, glimmering sound of four-piece Django Django has seen them carve out a niche for themselves ever since their emergence back in 2009. This is the psych-infused British band’s third album and it sounds unmistakably like, well, a Django Django record. And given that their album before this was a Mercury nominee, sounding like themselves is no bad thing. Soaring, confident songs that are the sonic equivalent of pop art, all bright, shiny and hook-laden with deliciously innovative polyrhythms. It’s called Marble Skies after a particularly spectacular stormy skyline they saw when playing Chicago’s renowned Lollapalooza festival. Indeed, this is an album that comes after two years of non-stop touring around the world, and the result is a band who are more assured, more vital, and more interesting than ever.
